Sea Otters in Kelp feasting on crab

The Sea Otter is a charming marine mammal in the north Pacific Ocean and the only species in the weasel family that lives its entire life in the ocean, preferring rocky shores and kelp forests. Sea otters are foragers that eat mostly hard-shelled invertebrates, including crabs, abalone and sea urchins.

A group of sea otters resting together is called a raft. Sea otters are known to wrap their pups and themselves in kelp to keep from drifting out to sea.
